At Abercorn we recognise the importance of physical fitness in promoting a healthy mind.

Physical Education for the younger ages is devoted to improving coordination and sporting abilities as well as helping pupils learn to strike a balance between competitive instincts and the necessity of working together.

In addition to gymnastics and dance, younger pupils are taught basic ball skills with a view to moving on to rounders, football and netball, tennis, squash and hockey.

Central London offers a multitude of outstanding sports facilities close to the school. Pupils visit the Seymour Leisure Centre for swimming and indoor sports lessons and from Year 2 pupils also take part in weekly outdoor Games lessons at Paddington Recreation Ground to maximise the breadth of sporting activities they engage in.

A National Coach and a qualified swimming teacher supervise the weekly swimming sessions and regular fixtures against other schools are arranged and thoroughly enjoyed by all members of the school community.

After school, there are opportunities to participate in Taekwondo, Swimming, Football and Athletics. By participating in a wide range of learning activities, pupils develop the skills and self-confidence to succeed in their future education and career.

The moral development of the pupils is excellent and a strong sense of integrity pervades the work and actions of the school.
