Nursery – Abercorn Place
First Steps in Education
Abercorn Place is a gracious Victorian listed mansion with its own private garden and is the home to the youngest Abercorn pupils.
The Nursery is renowned for its warm and friendly environment nurtured by well-qualified and caring teachers and their enthusiastic assistants.
Strong educational foundations
At Nursery, your child is introduced to the fundamentals of early year’s education. To create a strong basis for future learning, great importance is placed on literacy and numeracy. Children also begin French, Music and PE.
The Nursery provides a safe and secure environment where children can enjoy a mixture of structured and ‘free’ activities to develop coordination, concentration, and independence.
The Nursery is exceptionally well resourced. Sand and water play, the art and craft table, a computer corner, and a construction area, all have an important part in the structure of the Nursery School.
Educational play
Children adore the ‘home corner’. It constantly changes from being a shop to a doctor’s surgery, estate agent, or even a jungle.
Having learnt to interact positively with a wide range of other children and adults, your child will be ready to move on to the wider environment of the Pre-Prep.
