In the Foundation Stage classes, children attend school full time and are taught by the form teachers, specialist teachers, and assistants.
Pupils enjoy several weekly sessions of Swimming, Physical Education, French, Music, plus Art and Crafts.
Much of the teaching is topic based and cross-curricular. It includes elementary Science, Geography, and History. Great emphasis is also given to literacy, numeracy and life skills.
Reading is taught primarily by phonics, but our educational approach varies to suit every child. There is a wide selection of reading schemes and children are encouraged to take books home on a regular basis. Maths is taught using practical examples, and early computer skills are also introduced.
Teachers pay particular attention to developing children’s social skills to ensure that they are ready to integrate more fully with older members of the school.
