General Information

The school day

We recommend that children arrive before registration so that they have the opportunity to be organised and relaxed before classes begin. Children may be dropped off at the School from 8.00am. For the Infant pupils registration is at 8.30am; for Middle and Upper Prep pupils registration is at 8.45am.

The end of the school day varies between 3.20pm and 4.20pm depending on age.

Nutrition

Abercorn prides itself on the quality of its catering. Our chef uses the finest fresh foods from trusted suppliers and transforms them into nourishing and varied menus.

Key Stage 2 results

In 2006 our pupils’ unaudited results were as follows:

English	100% at level 4	67% at level 5
Maths	93% at level 4	80% at level 5
Science	93% at level 4	86% at level 5

Standard Assessments Tests (SATs) for all 11 year olds in English, Mathematics and Science are taken by all 11 year olds in the UK. A Level 4 is the National expectation. Level 5 is above average and equates to the National Expectation of a pupil aged 14.
*Abercorn’s 2006 results were not moderated. The School’s results have been consistently well above average for a number of years.
