ISA Athletic Championships

Prep Sport

On Thursday 19th May  we took 27 selected pupils to Bedford International Athletics Stadium to compete in the London North Area Athletics Championships. The pupils had a successful day, even through the rain, hailstones and the winds, all of the students competed with 100% effort and demonstrated a high level of skill. We had  some great results and the pupils should be very proud of their accomplishments.

A big thank you to those parents who came out to support the pupils during their events, we really appreciated it and I'm sure the children did too.

Notable achievements on the day;

Lucia (Year 5) came 4th in the Rounders Ball throw
Noah (Year 5) came 4th in the Cricket Ball throw
Sophie (Year 5) came 1st in the 600m
Max (Year 4) came 2nd in the 600m
Kavita (Year 5) came 1st in the 150m.

Dimitrios being the only Year 7 representative came 2nd in the 100m & 3rd in the Shotput (having only had 1 practice prior to the ISA)!

The Year 5 girls relay team came first in their relay qualifying heat, and narrowly missed 3rd place in the final coming 4th. Well done to Kavita, Simone, Lillie and Sophie.

The Year 4 boys relay team came 4th in their relay qualifying  heat, and came 3rd in the final. Well done to George, Fola, Thanos and Max.

A huge thank you to all of the students that took part in the day, they did an excellent job representing Abercorn and they made us all very proud.
