ISA Cross Country Championships

Sport Events

On Tuesday 9th February a selection of Abercorn athletes from Years 4 - 8 travelled to Bedford to compete in the ISA North London Cross Country Championships. The team consisted of the following athletes:

The sun came out just in time as the team arrived in Bedford but the conditions under foot were going to prove challenging. Mud, mud and more mud! Oh, and a nice long hill to tackle which we called the ‘Bog of Doom 2.0’.

For a large number of the team this was their first experience of an ISA Cross Country Championship so there were a lot of nerves, but also excitement. All the team gave 110% effort and performed really well against some very tough competition. We must commend the pupils on how they supported and cheered each other on.

Notable top 25 performances;

  • Marco and Petr coming 11th & 12th in the Y4 boys category.
  • Max coming 24th in the Y5/6 boys category.
  • Kavita coming 18th, Lucia coming 21st and me coming 1st in the Y5/6 girls category.
  • Kyle coming 16th in the Y7/8 boys category.

With some great performances on the day we are looking forward to some of the team representing North London at the National Cross Country Championships.
