Annual Aquathlon National Championships

Events Sports

On Tuesday 7th June, a specially chosen Abercorn Team went to Caterham School in Surrey to compete in the 5th annual Schools Aquathlon National Championships. Aquathlon is a race in which you swim, change quickly, then run.  With the school already having 2 national champions from this event in previous years, the expectations are always high, and the children who participated delivered. Huge congratulations to all the children in Years 3 - 7 who represented the school so well at this event this year.

Every one of the children put a great effort into their respective races. At the end of the day, Abercorn School had 9 children that finished in the top 6 of their race category, with 3 podium places and 2 national champions.

Congratulations to our new national champion, Sean Batu from Year 4, and to our school’s first double national champion, Sophie in Year 6. Well done!
