Official Opening of The British International School of New York

The British International School of New York (BISNY), had its official opening in October when we welcomed our sister school from the UK, Abercorn School, to our celebrations.

BISNY was delighted to play host for forty people from Abercorn School, consisting of members of the senior choir, parents and staff. David Morse, BISNY Headmaster, gave them all a warm welcome and children from both schools got on very well.

During their visit, the Abercorn choir and some of our pupils put on two performances. On the 25th of October they entertained an audience of American and British parents. Two days later they took part in a much more formal occasion attended by the British Consul, who is the Queen’s representative in New York.

But it wasn’t all work, work work for our visitors. Pupils, teachers and parents also had time to sample the many pursuits and delights of our wonderful city. The Abercorn tour was such a success it has been suggested that it becomes part of our annual calendar.

Mrs Greystoke deserves our heartfelt congratulations and we look forward to each school working together whenever the opportunity presents itself.
