Lower School In-Person Discover Morning

We are delighted to invite you to join us for an in-person Discover Morning at Abercorn Lower School.

Wednesday 15th May 2024, 9:30AM - 11:00AM

28 Abercorn Place, London NW8 9XP

The morning will provide the opportunity to hear from the Deputy Head of Lower School, Ms Rebecca Stewart, who will explore our school program in detail with ample time for questions.

Following this, you will have the opportunity to see our pupils and teachers in action as we tour you around our Lower School. Tours will last around 20 minutes and be taken in small groups Groups which are not touring will have the opportunity to speak to the Abercorn team over refreshments.

Places are deliberately limited to ensure minimal disruption to pupils whilst giving parents the opportunity to explore our school. Once we reach capacity we will operate a waitlist and therefore ask you to let us know as soon as possible should your plans to attend change.

Abercorn Lower School holds all children from Nursery up until Year 2 and is located at 28 Abercorn Place, St Johns Wood, NW8 9XP.

At Abercorn, we know that an educational environment makes all the difference for our youngest students and our program is carefully designed to ease the transition between home and school, whilst laying the foundations for a lifelong love of learning.

09:30 Welcome to Abercorn by Charlotte RingerAbercorn Lower School is a vibrant, child-led environment, underpinned by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which seamlessly transitions into the National Curriculum of England in Years 1 and 2. In the EYFS, we plan provocations known as creative kickstarts to help develop and apply a range of skills. Learning is very cross-curricular so children can consolidate and apply learning concepts. This style of teaching and learning continues into KS1 and KS2 where the children access a creative curriculum ensuring that learning is meaningful and discovery based.

At our school, we recognise that every student is unique, and we aim to provide a nurturing environment where they feel safe, valued, and supported. We encourage our students to take risks, make mistakes, and learn from them, as we believe that this is how they can develop the resilience and perseverance that is so important for success in life.
