Physical Health and wellbeing is an important part of life at Abercorn and our pupils enjoy a range of in school sports as well as competitive fixtures and after school activities.
In the Early Years, Yoga is a favourite staple of the program, encouraging meditation and good posture. Our youngest pupils also enjoying weekly Gymnastics and swimming lessons from Pre-Reception.
As our pupils move up through the school the timetable allows for lessons in PE, Games and Swimming each week.
Throughout their time at Abercorn pupils will engage in a range of sports as part of their curricular program and as part our extra-curricular offering. From Taekwondo and Gymnastics, to Football and excursions in the great outdoors, Sports at Abercorn is comprehensive and engaging.
Physical fitness in promotes a healthy mind from a young age and our pupils benefit from expert coaching and outstanding Central London facilities across a range of sports.
Pupils enjoy playful activities and practice their poses in regular age appropriate sessions which develop strength and flexibility, encourages mindfulness, boosts self-esteem and enhances concentration.
Swimming is an important part of a child’s early years learning and development both physically and mentally. At Abercorn all pupils in Pre-Reception to Year 5 enjoy weekly lessons in the pool.
