Lower School Curriculum Coordinator and Teacher

Michelle joined the Lower School team in 2018, and has enjoyed the rewarding role of Nursery Teacher since September 2020.

Michelle attended Herefordshire University where she obtained a BSc (Hons) in Human Biology and Philosophy before going on to study for a PGCE in Primary Education Specialising in Early Years Education.

After qualifying, she worked as a Reception Teacher in Hounslow, West London before moving to the UAE. In Abu Dhabi she spent 3 years as an Early Years Teacher and was an active member of the behaviour committee specialising in behaviour management for KS2 children. Upon returning to the UK she took on the role of a Year 1 teacher where she designed and implemented an Early Years approach to teaching the Year 1 curriculum.

Michelle joined the Abercorn family as a Reception Teacher where her creative and child-centred approach to delivering the curriculum continues to ensure children reach their full academic potential. She joined the Academic Leadership Team in 2019 where her enthusiasm and child-focused approach ensures the Abercorn Growth Mindset is at the heart of moving the school forward and ensuring it continues to be a place where each child feels valued and happy.

Qualifications: BSc in Human Biology with Philosophy, PGCE (Early Years and KS1), QTS
