Melissa rejoined Abercorn School in September 2022, having previously worked here between 2018 and 2021. She now works with the children in Pre-Reception at the Lower School.

Following in from working in the French Alps for 6 moths as a chef/host for a family ski company, Melissa decided to go to university to study early years teaching. She started working at Abercorn as a Reception Teacher straight after she finished university (2018-2021). Melissa then moved back to Cheshire with her family for a year and worked as a Year 1 Class Teacher in a large school. After working there for one year, she decided to move back to London and started working at Abercorn again as a Pre-Reception Teacher.

Melissa’s motivation to work with children came from her own love at school and how she always looked up to her teahers. Melissa loves working with the younger children in the school and seeing their true personalities shine through over the year. She thinks that it is amazing to see how much development they make in the early years and it’s wonderful to be a part of it.

In her spare time, Melissa likes going to the gym, reading and walking.

Qualifications: 1st Class BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education with QTS from Leeds Beckett University.
