Mrs Wrottesley is a Drama Specialist who enjoys bringing literature to life with pupils in the classroom and through our celebrated school productions.

Having gained a BA Hons Degree in Theatre at the University of Surrey and Guildford School of Acting Mrs Wrottesley went on to do a PGCE in Drama at the Central School of Speech and Drama, followed by an MA in Drama and Theatre Education at the University of Warwick. She has had a passion for drama since childhood, having been inspired by a LAMDA teacher at an early age and working with professional theatre directors and designers as part of a youth theatre company. As an adult, she worked professionally in the performing arts industry for ten years before becoming a full time teacher.

Inspired by the wonderful opportunities she had as a child, Mrs Wrottesley wanted to use her professional experience to help young people develop their creative interests and fire their imaginations. In her teaching, Mrs Wrottesley takes inspiration from Shakespeare and her love of poetry and drama.

As a teacher, Mrs Wrottesley provides pupils with the opportunity to stimulate new thought, growth and creativity, to learn to respect themselves and others through collaboration and crucially, to build their confidence by having fun with their imaginations. The joy and pride on a pupil’s face when they have developed or created their own piece of drama is her motivation. She enjoys making lessons fun and invigorating by using a 'hands on' approach with props, costumes and technical aspects; and introducing them to the 'magic' of theatre and film on school trips or with visiting theatre companies.

Qualifications: BA(Hons) in Theatre (Acting), PGCE (Drama), MA in Drama & Theatre Education, QTS
